Product Description

Also known as orthophosphoric acid, this is widely used in dentistry as an etching agent for cleaning and roughening of teeth after which, filling process takes place. In food products like colas, jams, sauces or ketchups etc. the phosphoric acid is used to regulate the acidity in order to provide tangy or sour taste.

Phosphorous acid is the compound described by the formula H3PO3. This acid is diprotic (readily ionizes two protons), not triprotic as might be suggested by this formula.Phosphorous acid is an intermediate in the preparation  phosphorus compounds.
